Where a 4×6 product poster works

A 4×6" sign gives one item the attention a small tag can't: a photo, a large price and a QR code that opens the full details. Use it for the piece you most want to sell this week, or for anything too big or too valuable to carry a hang tag.

In the window

Passers-by can scan the code from the sidewalk, even when you're closed, and see photos and the price on their phone. Tape the poster to the inside of the glass at eye level and keep the code free of glare.

By the register

Shoppers waiting in line read what's next to them. A poster for a featured item there sells add-ons — and the QR code lets them look at the details without asking you while you ring someone up.

On large items

Furniture, bikes and appliances rarely have a good place for a small tag. A poster on a stand or taped to the item is easy to spot across the floor.

Photo tips for a product sign

Shoot in daylight near a window, against a plain wall or sheet. Fill the frame with the item and keep the phone level. One clear photo beats three cluttered ones on a 4×6" sign; put extra angles on the item's page, where shoppers who scan can swipe through them.

Print on cardstock or photo paper if you have it — the photo looks better and the sign stands up on its own. On plain paper, a clear sheet protector keeps it clean on the shop floor.

What to write on the sign

Keep the name short and specific — "Teak armchair, 1960s" reads better from across the room than a full description. Put the price in large type, and let the page behind the QR code carry the rest: measurements, materials, flaws, and more photos. If the item is negotiable or you deliver, say so on the page, so shoppers who scan get the answer before they have to ask. When the piece sells, mark it sold in a free account and the same poster points to what else you have.
